Commander in Chief

We have a wacko shooting at Republicans in the US, now there is a man driving a van into Muslim worshippers leaving prayer in London.  It seems some people have had enough; the extremism is being driven by a lot of factors. We know one is a liberal supporter of the democrat party, the other one is probably from the other side of the isle, not much is known at this time about the wacko from London.   We will always have wacko’s from both sides; extremism is not new and won’t go away. Policticans from both sides help fuel the fire, and the press be it liberal or conservative help with cherry picking words,  making a big deal out of a remark, implying something that was not said and come to a conclusion that had nothing to do with the remark.  I guess they call it firing up the base, I call it being stupid, and possibly criminal. We have so called democrat leaders calling to “ Resist” , what the hell does that mean? Those old enough to remember the Kennedy election and aftermath created a bunch of press about his being a Catholic, and how we would be bowing down to the Pope. That little thing was all political and press driven, the people really didn’t care.  Few people remember that Kennedy was the President that started that Viet-nam experiment which turned into a full fledged Democrat war under Johnson, an experiment that went horribly wrong. The US Army was playing with helicopters and it seemed like a perfect place to test out somone’s theory about war.  The fact that Johnson owned a large share of Bell Helicopters probably had nothing to do with not stopping the war. That was back in free love, hippies and LSD days, if you happened to be coming back from a year vacation in Viet-nam, you were advised not to wear your uniform unless you were on base.  Ahh the good old days.  From my point of view , the Carter years was the turning point for the democrat party, look at the candidates since then, no strong leader, always pandering to the minority portion of the party and slowly driving away their base to the republicans or independent.  Why all the sudden this political bullshit? Well I was doing my “HULU” thing and found a tv series called “ Commander in Chief”,   it only ran 18 episodes but other than having a female President it was strange how close it was to today’s news.
